Bangladesh has been performing these past few years phenomenally in terms of technological growth. Currently, the nation stands among the top 10 tech labor-producing countries globally, with a staggering 16% share of the global online workforce.
Since 2010, the country has seen a 40% annual growth in the ICT industry. There are currently over 4500+ software and ICT companies in Bangladesh with over 300,000 employees and team members within them.
With the annual 20,000 CSE graduates each year, the growth forecast for this sector looks promising to say the least. Not only that, but tech talents in this sector are also earning up to $2 billion each year. This is a major contribution to the economy and for the growth of this industry.
The rise of investments and initiatives by software and ICT companies gives leeway to this tremendous growth. Among all these companies, a large number of them are focused on providing BPO services and software development and IT outsourcing services to international clients. In such scenarios, foreign investment and remittance come into play, adding to the aggregate income generated by this sector as well as the increased demand for such talents and services.
Global offshore software development rates in 2022 have increased slightly due to current events and changes within the industry. Still, Bangladesh continues to have one of the lowest rates when compared to global providers.
As per numerous studies and reports, Bangladesh is forecasted to see steady growth in the IT industry in the upcoming years. With the current global situation and the rise in remote working, BPO and offshoring companies have many opportunities to grab hold of and use to propel themselves further in company growth as well as nationwide development.
